Explore the Cape Kamenjak

Istria is truly a magical Croatian region that leaves no one indifferent. From picturesque inland towns to coastal towns, Istria will give you the same pleasure in early spring as in the middle of the summer season. Amazing nature, clear sea, rich cultural heritage and indescribably good food and wine are just some of the reasons why Istria is so loved. And while some will say that its disadvantage is that it is not endowed with the most beautiful beaches on the Adriatic, connoisseurs know where to go. One of these places is Cape Kamenjak which will win you over at first sight.

Cape Kamenjak is the southernmost point of the Istrian peninsula and is a 20-minute drive from Premantura. Since 1996, Kamenjak has been on the list of protected areas. Crystal clear sea, numerous bays and beautiful beaches make Kamenjak an ideal place for summer all-day swimming and sports activities such as diving. How special it is also shown by the fact that the world-famous tourist guide Lonely Planet once included it on the list of the most desirable locations for a hidden vacation in the Mediterranean.

The coast of Kamenjak reveals numerous bays, islets and beaches. It is mostly rocky, with flat rocks that are ideal for sunbathing in summer and high rocks that will delight all those who enjoy jumping into the sea.

There are also several sandy beaches in the area suitable for families with children. The blue-green sea is nowhere as clean as here, and due to the extremely rich underwater world, it is a well-known diving destination. The most famous bays are Velika and Mala Kolumbarica below which there are caves and the bay Portić.
