Mlina Bay, in the southwestern part of the island of Hvar, is known for its beautiful beaches. The most interesting beach is Pokonji Dol. The name means “underground lake” because it is surrounded by steep cliffs.
The beach has a pebble surface and crystal-clear sea water that reaches up to one meter during low tide. There are no hotels or restaurants on this part of the island, only private houses, so here you can find peace and quiet, but also privacy during your stay in Croatia.
3. Dubovica Beach
Dubovica beach is one of the most popular beaches on the island of Hvar. The sandy beach is wide and clean, with lots of trees providing shade. There are many hotels and restaurants near Dubovica beach, so you can easily get something to eat or drink while enjoying a day at the beach. It is also easy to find a parking place here, although you may have to pay for it if there are no free spaces.
There are rocky areas around Dubovica beach, as well as grassy areas where you can sit and relax if you do not want sand on your clothes or feet. At certain times of the year, when there isn’t much wind blowing from the mainland to the open sea, there can be quite a lot of people on this beach, but still, this is one of those rare places where everyone agrees, without fighting over who will come first and take the best position!
