Euphrasian Basilica

 

If you like to explore the sights of the country you are visiting, we recommend you to see the Euphrasian Basilica – a basilica from the sixth century included in the UNESCO World Heritage List since 1997.

We will tell you the story of the construction of this beautiful basilica. Arriving in Poreč, Bishop Euphrasius was disappointed with the modest church he found and decided, inspired by Byzantine culture, to build a basilica that will be remembered. We believe that he succeeded because this basilica is one of the most famous Istrian cultural monuments today.

Entering the basilica, you will notice a beautiful mosaic that adorns the central apse, and also, you will have the opportunity to climb the bell tower, from where there is an incredible view of the city of Poreč.
