Parenzana – A path worth visiting
Have you heard about our Parenzana bike path? If you haven’t, then it is the right time to find out why it is called that and what makes it so special!
Once upon a time, precisely from 1902. to 1913., Parenzana was a railway that connected Poreč with Trieste in Italy. Fortunately for all of us, many memories of the old railway have been preserved and are waiting for you to discover their charms. Whether you are a fan of cycling or walking in nature, you will be delighted by the part of the old railway that hides irresistible views, bridges and tunnels. You will find our restaurateurs on every part of the trail, ready to refresh you with traditional Istrian dishes and drinks.
The most attractive part of the trail is the first one, which stretches from Grožnjan through Oprtalj and all the way to Livade. On this part of the trail, you will have the opportunity to visit beautiful viewpoints and pass through 6 tunnels. Stop in Grožnjan and explore this little gem with charming streets full of studios and galleries and find out why it is called the city of artists. Finally, don’t miss the opportunity to visit the Parenzana Museum in Livade.
